2LP CAFÉS

CAFÉ FURNISHING

Café interior design with focus on atmosphere, operation and detail

A successful café interior is much more than nice furniture and cosy lamps. It supports the entire experience - from the customer's first impression to the flow behind the counter.

At 2LP, we help you realise the interior design of cafés of all sizes, whether it's a new café to be built from scratch or an existing café to be renewed.

We work closely with architects and designers, but we don't do the creative work ourselves. Our strength lies in turning ideas into reality - with an eye for function, operation and technical quality.

Café interior design that creates identity

Café interior design is very much about creating an environment that invites people to stay and socialise. Cafés are often more than just a place to eat and drink - they are a meeting place, workplace, social space and part of the pulse of the city.

That's why it's crucial that the café interior reflects the mood and atmosphere that the owner wants to create.

It can be warm Nordic minimalism with natural materials and muted colours. It can be the urban, industrial look with raw surfaces, visible installations and recycled materials.

It can also be a classic Parisian look with small intimate corners, mosaic floors and striking light installations. Whatever the style, we help you realise it in practice.

Hands-on experience with cafés and guest environments

We have completed the interior design of cafés, restaurants and foodspots with many different profiles and requirements. Common to them all is the need for:

  • Atmospheric interior design that attracts guests and creates identity
  • A well thought-out customer flow - from entrance to ordering and serving
  • Efficient and easy-to-clean solutions in bar and kitchen areas

Café interior design requires that aesthetics and practicality go hand in hand. For example, materials must be able to withstand spills, wear and tear and daily cleaning without losing their appearance.

Similarly, guests should move naturally through the café - from the first step through the door to the coffee cup on the table.

Decorating a café with an eye for the whole space

Whether it's a coffee shop of a few square metres or a larger café with different zones, we approach the task with the same approach: To make everything fit together. This means that we think in terms of the big picture - while keeping an eye on the details.

For example:

  • Lighting that creates ambience without glare
  • Acoustics that dampen noise without dampening energy
  • Guest zones that balance intimacy and efficient use of space
  • Løsninger, der tager højde for ventilation, el og rørføring – uden at kompromittere indretningen

An important part of café interior design is also creating flexibility. Many cafés thrive on being able to accommodate busy lunches, cosy afternoons and evening events. That's why it's often beneficial to incorporate:

  • Modular tables and seating that can be customised for groups of different sizes
  • Movable partitions that can quickly change the room
  • Hidden technology and smart electrical solutions that don't disturb the visual expression

Café interior design that stands up to everyday life

Café environments need to be durable. Not just aesthetically, but also physically. This applies to furniture, surfaces, bar counters and everything behind them.

At 2LP, we make sure everything is built and installed correctly - with respect for materials and traffic.

We often work with materials like:

  • Durable solid wood or composite worktops
  • Durable floor coverings with easy cleaning
  • Strong laminates and surface treatments that withstand daily use

If you need something special, we build it to measure. If you have chosen furniture and equipment from suppliers, we take care of installation, customisation and assembly. We coordinate with other trades so that electricity, lighting and technology work in harmony with the visual whole.

Are you opening a new café?

For new builds, we can be involved from the very beginning - from raw building to fully functional café environment. We handle the technical construction tasks, collaborate with your design partner and ensure that the construction process runs smoothly and in line with the project phases.

We have experience with everything from:

  • Material choices and surfaces that withstand daily use
  • Inventory solutions that adapt to existing architecture
  • Space utilisation in smaller spaces and open café concept environments
  • Integration of ventilation, grease traps and other technical requirements that come with café operation
  • Logistics planning for deliveries, assembly and commissioning of equipment

Opening a new café requires many decisions along the way. We make sure you can focus on concept and guest experience while we take care of the practicalities.

Technical coordination and project management

Café interior design often requires close coordination between multiple professionals.

Electricity for coffee machines and refrigeration, ventilation for the kitchen and serving areas, sound systems and lighting - all without compromising on aesthetics. We make sure that all installations are well thought out, easily accessible for service and discreetly integrated into the interior design.

We have experience coordinating projects of all sizes - from small speciality cafés to large chain formats where a uniform design needs to be rolled out across multiple units.
